Project activities
We will improve the condition of some European important species and Natura 2000 sites through project activities.
We are purchasing important nature conservation land in the area of intermittent lakes, dry grasslands, and wet meadows, which are the habitat of the Scarce large blue butterfly (Maculinea teleius). We will define the future appropriate use and maintenance of these areas with the assistance of experts from partner organisations. We will manage the land with the help of landowners and land managers. We will clean two polluted caves as part of the project, which will help to protect the vulnerable karst aquifer.
A portion of the funds will be used to interpret nature conservation and to set up the basic infrastructure for guiding visitors through the Nature Park. A particularly important set is dedicated to awareness-raising activities and cooperation with residents and other key stakeholders (landowners and land managers).
