When the underground of the Green Karst is filled with water, the southern slopes of the Javornik forests are reflected on the surface of 17 Pivka intermittent lakes.
There are not that many of them in such a small area anywhere else in the world. Sometimes there is water in the lake basins, and other times there are colourful meadows. Our natural heritage is the exchange of karstic Fairy Shrimp (Chirocephalus croaticus) floating among the undulating grass with butterflies and birds flying over the floral carpets. And we want to keep it that way within The Seasonal Lakes of Pivka Nature Park.

V avli Srednje gozdarske, lesarske in zdravstvene šole Postojna (SGLZŠ Postojna) bo med 13. januarjem in 2. februarjem 2026 na ogled razstava Pivška pokrajina skozi leto – življenje med presihajočimi jezeri in velikimi zvermi.
Razstava obiskovalcem približa naravne posebnosti Pivške kotline, presihajoča jezera ter življenje velikih zveri.
Otvoritev razstave bo v torek, 13. januarja 2026, ob 11. uri.
V času gostovanja so po predhodnem dogovoru mogoči tudi vodeni ogledi.
Razstava poteka v okviru projekta LAS Oznaka Medvedu prijazno.
